That being said, this vehicle is still quite a performer; it can produce up to 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque with its standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Stepping up to the optional 1.6-liter four-cylinder drops that hp to 180 but raises the torque to 195 pound-feet.

Overall, though, the 2020 Sonata focuses on comfort over athleticism. The model has been fully redesigned and now features one of the nicest interiors in the class. It embodies the sultry “Sensuous Sportiness” design philosophy that Hyundai is now implementing across its brand.
